Why don't I join the MonSoutienPsy program?

I am FOR making psychology accessible to everyone (without prioritizing disorders or sorting them)

I am FOR public services continuing to play their central role in mental health care (and not for this public system to be dismantled in favor of the liberalization of mental health)

I am FOR patients to decide what they need (and not for it to be a system that limits the duration of support)

I am FOR mental health care to be covered by Social Security (but at a fair price for professionals)

I am therefore AGAINST the MonSoutienPsy system, and will not participate in it.

Behind this system, there is a shift in responsibilities and a desire to reduce public services, as always.

Here's how:

By offloading patients who will flock to a discounted private sector, there will be even fewer reinforcements, positions, and ARS funding for the CMPs (Medical-Psychological Centers). Moreover, psychologists are encouraged to leave their institutional practice to join the private sector.

The CMPs will therefore have to, with reduced resources, focus on 'moderate and serious' patients (since the 'mild' ones will be managed privately) who will be deemed sufficiently independent to leave the hospital.

And we can continue to calmly close beds, units, services, and the positions that go with them in the hospital - which is already happening but on a smaller scale.

NB: As of March 2025, only 5% of psychologists have joined this system, in 4 years.
